Optional Tours

Day Trip to Kanyakumari

This excursion will take you on a full day trip to Kanyakumari - the southern tip of India - returning to Trivandrum on the same day.

On the way you will visit the Padmanabhapuram Palace - the magnificent wooden palace constructed by the Maharajahs of Travancore - continuing to Kanyakumari a famous pilgrimage centre for Hindus.

After lunch (not included in your trip) if you wish you can take a boat trip to visit Vivekananda rock where the famous Indian Philosopher Vivekananda meditated before he went to Chicago for his famous speech.

Or perhaps spend the time before you return on the beach watching the sun set over the sea before driving back to Kovalam - on your return you can visit the Sucheendram Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu.

Driving time: Trivandrum to Kanyakumari 2 hours 30 mins each way

Half Day Trivandrum City Sightseeing

This is an ideal tour to experience first hand the sights and sounds of a Keralan town.  The tour will take you to Padmanabhaswamy Temple, the Horse Palace, the magnificent wood palace constructed by the Travancorn Maharajahs now converted to a museum, Chalai market and SMSM Handicraft Institute (closed Mondays).

Driving Time - half day sightseeing -6  hours there and back.

4 people sharing air conditioned Toyota Innova £10.00 per person

Day Trip to Ponmudi

This is an attractive hill station near Trivandrum.  On the way to Ponmudi you will pass through Golden Valley before continuing to Ponmudi where you can go for short walks to enjoy the fabulous views across the valleys.  Ponmudi is also home to an interesting deer park.  Returning to your hotel late afternoon or evening.

Ponmudi is located 1000m above sea level.

Driving time - Trivandrum to Ponmudi 3 hours each way
