Here is a taster of what you will find when you visit…
Chinese fishing nets
Huge cantilevered fishing nets stand proudly on the waterline. Originally an accessory for fishing brought to Cochin by the Chinese, they are now a popular attraction for tourists. The sight of the nets suspended in mid air with a backdrop of the sunset is simply stunning. It is, undoubtedly one of the most photographed sights in Cochin.
St. Francis Church
The oldest European church in India, St Francis Church features some magnificent architecture – well worth a visit!
A generous gift presented to the Raja of Kochi, Veera Kerala Varma, as a gesture of goodwill by the Portuguese in 1555. The main attraction here is the extremely well preserved Hindu wall murals, depicting scenes from the Ramayana, Mahabharata and Puranic legends in intricate detail.
