Holiday Planning 2018
Many of us are tempted to wait until the January sales to book our holidays but is booking that time of the year really cheaper? This side of Christmas there’s certainly more choice of destinations and this is primarily down to the availability of accommodation and flights. Holiday places fill up fast in January and they’re not necessarily cheaper. Agencies may rely on the fact that plenty of people book in January so the bargains could be few and far between. Also, school holidays tend to be a more expensive time to travel, if you’re a family wishing to grab a bargain holiday then book early!
Pet sitter/ kennels
Pet sitters and kennels book up fast, months in advance. Booking early means you have peace of mind that your furry friends will be looked after while you travel. Travel insurance is also something that could be arranged far in advance of the summer, even if you have yet to choose your destination, you can buy travel insurance on an annual basis or for a few months. There are very competitive offers out there right now.
When you book a holiday far in advance it allows you to pay the costs in instalments so you don’t feel the pinch as much. There’s a chance to budget over a long period of time for your holiday spending money. If you’re travelling to a country with currency then keep an eye on daily exchange rates to receive the best value for your money.
Reduced summer wear
We’re still seeing the remains of the summer sales in places and many great bargains can be found in clothes shops. As soon as the January sales hit we will see new summer clothes appearing in shops and nabbing a bargain buy when it comes to summer outfits could be difficult. Now is the perfect opportunity to start picking up some toiletries (sunscreen, insect repellent), a few items added to your weekly shopping and you’ll have a suitcase filled in no time!
