Commitment to Kerala

Elaine first visited Kerala  to work closely with local Rotary Groups based in Kerala to see how Rotary in the UK could help charities associated with children raise funds.  On her return - together with a group of friends - Elaine set up the Children of Kerala Charity - together the team have now raised thousands of pounds for various projects  including special play areas in children's hospices, generators to provide the Nuns who look after the children with hot water for cleaning and washing, money for sewing machines and goat projects to enable people to move out of poverty, water wells to provide villages with clean water and assistance for the local tribal people.  Elaine visits Kerala twice a year to meet up with her Kerala associates and to see how the projects are progressing and what other areas and projects they can help with.
